Kindness By Kendal Leahy, Clinical Intern
“Just because an animal is large, it doesn’t mean he doesn’t want kindness; however big Tigger seems to be, remember that he wants as much kindness as Roo” Winnie the Pooh. A kind person is considerate, courteous, helpful, and understanding of others. Some may have heard of the term ‘treat others how you want to be treated’. Kindness can go a long way for individuals and truly make a difference in someone’s day or week. There are several ways someone can show kindness. Some of the ways include but aren’t limited to:
- Paying for the person’s order who is in line behind you
- Helping a co-worker or classmate
- Sending a motivational text to someone you care about
- Holding the door open for a stranger
- Donate to a local charity
- Smile at others
- Compliment others
There are plenty of ways to show others kindness. However, it is also important show yourself kindness. Some ways that you can show yourself kindness can include taking a break, get enough sleep, good nutrition, and practicing positive self-talk. You have the opportunity to continue to become better each day to yourself, and others.
