Thoughts of calm, peaceful, tranquility some examples of this in nature are the sounds of gentle waves on the beach, soft rain drops, the sounds of a waterfall. These images may be what comes to mind when thinking about relaxation and meditation. Meditation can be very helpful in managing stress, focusing on the present, and it can even help with sleep.
Mindfulness is a term that describes a state of consciousness that is reached by focusing on the present. The phrase stop and smell the roses is a reminder to practice mindfulness and appreciate the present moment.
Some ways to practice meditation and mindfulness are deep breathing, guided meditation and focusing on the present moment. There are guided meditations are available on many different sources: within meditation applications for mobile phones, on YouTube and there are mediation books.
