Erin Owens, Master Level Clinical Intern

Erin is a Clinical Intern completing her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at National Louis University.

Erin knows firsthand how hard it can be to ask for help but believes everyone has the power to change. She believes counseling is about help and hope. Whether you are experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, relational discord, or life transitions, wherever you are, there is help and hope. Erin sees her role as an agent of change, motivation, encouragement, and a beacon of hope. Everyone has a story, and Erin desires to provide a safe space where you can share your story and help restore harmony where there is dissonance. People can change; sometimes, they just need someone to come alongside to help give them the courage and the hope that tomorrow can be a better day.

Erin has a unique ministerial background. She holds an M.A. in Counseling from Westminster Seminary in Philadelphia, with a pastoral/spiritual focus toward counseling. She has worked alongside her husband in college ministry and served in many different roles, including children’s ministry and pastoral counseling. She sees her vast experience of working with people in a pastoral capacity as a natural bridge to the counseling field. She believes everyone, regardless of background, deserves to be seen, heard, and treated with dignity.

When she is not working, Erin enjoys reading fiction, exercising, and spending time with her husband, 2 elementary school-aged kids, and her rowdy 4-year-old golden retriever, Scout. On Saturday mornings, you will find Erin and her family at one of their kid’s soccer games or at home with a cup of coffee watching the English Premier League. Come on, you Spurs!

Erin is currently accepting new clients at the St. Charles and Schaumburg offices. Erin can be reached at: eowens@owenscounseling.com.
