Ron Henson, LPC

Ron is a therapist that believes in meeting clients where they are and walking alongside them on their journey towards healing and growth. He is dedicated to creating a safe, non-judgmental space where people can feel heard, supported, and empowered. Ron enjoys working with college students, adults, men exploring emotional health and personal growth, neurodiverse individuals, BIPOC & LGBTQIA+ communities, and people trying therapy for the first time as they navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, major life transitions, relationships, emotions, identities, and stress.

Ron received his master’s degree in counseling from McKendree University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Ron’s approach to therapy combines Reality Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy, focusing on personal choice, self-discovery, and practical strategies for meaningful change. His own journey fuels his passion for reducing stigma and creating space where people can explore their experiences with compassion and curiosity.

Ron is passionate about making the therapy process approachable and effective. Outside of therapy, he enjoys spending time with his partner and their cats, creating diamond art paintings, and unwinding with video games. Passionate about personal growth and lifelong learning, he strives to create a grounded, steady presence for clients and in his own life.

Whether you have taken many steps, or this is your first step towards healing and growth, Ron is here to support you and help you take that next step. Ron is currently accepting new clients at our Collinsville location. He can be reached at ron@owenscounseling.com or 847-854-4333 ext. 1009.
