World Mental Health Day October 10th, 2024
Hannah Garratt, LPC
On October 10th we celebrate World Mental Health Day! This is an opportunity to raise awareness about mental health issues, reduce stigma, promote mental well-being and advocate for mental health support and services.
World Mental Health Day was first established in 1992 and initiated by the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH). The Federation is a global organization with members in over 150 countries. Each year a theme is picked for the day and this years theme is, “It is Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace”.
Activities on this day can consist of educational campaigns, community events, social media awareness, and discussions on mental health challenges and solutions. You can be apart of celebrating by sharing mental health awareness posts, attending mental health workshops or webinars and sharing your own experience with mental health!
Changing the way mental health is viewed starts by talking about it and promoting our own mental health and well being. We would love to hear from you regarding any support you need with your mental health!
