Retirement is a time of celebration, when an individual who has been working decides that they are going to stop working and dedicate their time to other pursuits. This is a life transition which is often only focused on the positives, while the challenges are not openly discussed.
Retirement is a big life transition that can consist of some unforeseen difficulties. Some of those possible difficulties are a decrease in social interaction, loss of purpose, and feeling disconnected.
There are many different ways to try and mitigate these challenges. Some methods are to become involved with social circles outside of work, talking to someone, finding activities and organizations that you are passionate about.
