Maggie Perion, LPC, NCC

I understand that it can be intimidating to begin therapy, so I use compassion and humor to create a space for clients to feel safe and comfortable. I believe in the importance of using a holistic, trauma-informed lens in order to best understand my clients, their lived experiences, and the goals they wish to achieve. I aim for clients to feel seen and heard, gain awareness of themselves and their experiences, and learn tools to navigate life’s challenges and reach their goals. I also incorporate a strengths-based approach to empower clients to recognize and build upon their inherent resources and resilience.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked in public schools for over a decade, teaching at the middle and high school levels. I greatly enjoy working with teenagers and my prior experience in education has given me an ability to understand the many challenges that teens and parents face. I also have a passion for working with teachers and school staff. I understand the unique type of burnout that can happen when working in the school environment, and can support those who may be feeling overwhelmed in their role in education.

I enjoy helping teens and adults who are experiencing stress, depression, anxiety, life and career transitions, concerns with substance use, and relationship challenges. I am inclusive and accepting of diverse identities, backgrounds, and orientations.
