Isabella Pfeiffer, Master Level Clinical Intern
I believe that every child and adolescent has within them the capacity for growth, healing, and meaningful change. At times, life can feel overwhelming, and young people may not always have the words or tools to express what they are experiencing. Counseling can provide a safe and supportive space where they can feel heard, understood, and accepted while learning how to navigate life’s challenges. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside children, adolescents, and their families as they discover their strengths, build confidence, and develop the skills they need to thrive.
My approach to counseling is rooted in a trauma-informed perspective, with an emphasis on creating a relationship built on safety, trust, and connection. I believe that children and adolescents do best when they feel genuinely understood and supported. Through developmentally appropriate interventions, I work to help young clients identify and express their emotions, develop healthy coping skills, strengthen their relationships, and build a greater sense of confidence in themselves. When appropriate, I also incorporate principles and skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients learn effective ways to manage difficult emotions, tolerate distress, and navigate challenging situations.
My clinical interests include working with children and adolescents who are experiencing anxiety, emotional dysregulation, stress, low self-esteem, perfectionism, and challenges with relationships or life transitions. I am especially passionate about helping young people recognize their strengths and develop a stronger understanding of themselves while creating a supportive environment where they can feel safe being their authentic selves. I also value working collaboratively with parents and caregivers, recognizing the important role that family support plays in a young person’s growth and well-being.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my boyfriend, puppies, friends, and family. In my free time, I love trying new things, staying active and moving my body, and spending time outdoors. I believe that making time for connection, new experiences, and the things that bring us joy is an important part of living a balanced and meaningful life.
